Marcus A. McFerren, MD, PhD, FAAD, is a 2006-graduate of The Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences in New York, NY. His postgraduate training includes his training in internal medicine at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York (2006-2007), as well as his dermatological residency performed at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT (2007-2010). Dr. McFerren completed a PhD in Plant Biology at Cornell University. He attained board certification in dermatology with the American Board of Dermatology. Furthermore, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. McFerren is also a national and international lecturer on topics such as the beneficial and injurious effects of plants and plant products on the skin. The recipient of the 2011 Elle Magazine Genius Award for his contributions to cosmetic dermatology, Dr. McFerren has written numerous scientific articles and book chapters. In his spare time, he is a coach for the Northeast Flag Football League, as well as member of LEAP for Kids Executive Board. Before embarking on his current endeavors, he has held faculty appointments at the Cornell Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine, Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA, and SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York.
